Howdy.  Thanks for dropping by.  I have a wide range of interests, so I don’t think I’ll ever be writing the great American novel.  Blog posts seem to fit my short attention span anyway!

There are 5 major sections to this blog:

• Faith – This is where I post thoughts related to my faith in Jesus.  It includes Bible studies, thoughts from sermons, and other items that relate.
• Flying – My favorite subject to read and write on is flying.  It is the hobby that I value the most personally, so I tend to be a little passionate about it.
• Work – This one is new.  The first post is coming on 9.18.13.  It will be about my job, current employer, and other work-related items.
• Parenting – This one is also new.  It will be closely tied to the Faith category.
• Australia – This is the newest section, and since I haven’t written on here in a while – it will be the one most interesting for the next few months.

There will occasionally be other categories up on the main page based on current topics.  They’ll move into their major category over time as they age.  Currently, “Bearing God’s Image” is on the main page as it is our current study in the parenting teens class.

Here’s the important stuff:

• I believe in the saving power of Jesus, and He is the foundational driver of my life. I am not perfect. Just saved. I don’t expect you to be perfect either.
• I have been happily married to Brandi since 1996
• I have 2 beautiful girls and a son.
• We moved from Texas to Sydney, Australia on 17 June, 2015
• Professionally, I am the Area Vice Presidents of Sales in Australia and New Zealand for xMatters, Inc., a software and cloud based service provider of an Enterprise Communication Platform.
• I also serve in the youth and worship ministry at my church

Here’s the slightly less important stuff:

• I was born and raised on a family farm near Plainview, TX
• In Texas, we live on an airpark.
• In Australia, we live on the side of a cliff overlooking the beautiful Middle Harbour in Clontarf (Sydney).
• I am a graduate of Texas Tech University
• My favorite thing to do in the world: hang out with my family.

The other stuff I do for fun:

• Watch Texas HS football and College football.
• Fly my airplane
• Play softball
• Cook burgers on the grill with close friends
• Read
